September 2005 Tournament Results:

Gentlemen,

Let’s once again start off by thanking David Montero, this time representing Dos Equis Beer and fellow member Roberto Cavalcanti, for his gift certificate to the Mendoza restaurant. (Note to Roberto: You got any “Mendoza Girls” you can send to the next tourney to present the prizes?)

Speaking of babes … you can view all the tournament pictures (not just the ones that make this newsletter page) at: www.kbmga.com/photogallery.htm and click on the “Past Tournament Results Photo Gallery”. Click on each picture to enlarge the image.

There’s more to blather about but I’m under a self-imposed deadline to get this out today by 5:00. (I never was very good with deadlines). As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for that damn Steve Earl over at the Islander news, I might NEVER get the results out.

So on to the results …

The format was medal play and it was the first of the qualifying rounds for this year’s club championship.

First Place, Low Gross: went to current and defending club champion, Neil Christiansen, who had a respectable 74 on the day. Neil eagled the eighteenth hole on his way to the win.

First Place, Low Net: went to Alan Neufeld, who shot a 79 to net down to his winning score of 66.

Second Place, Low Net: went to recent past club champion, Roger Huxman, who fired a smooth net 70.

Third Place, Low Net: goes to young Michael Rafalowicz, who came in with a net 71.

Closest-to-the-pin honors this month went to:

6th Hole: Paul Susz, who put it 4’1” from the hole and confidently made the putt for the bird.

12th Hole: Phil Josephson, who stuck it a mere 2’9” from the pin and easily made his birdie, as well.

Long Drive on the 14th Hole: goes to young (but long), Michael Rafalowicz, who blasted it by everybody, but ended the hole with a bogey. Concentrate, Michael. Concentrate!

Special mention this month goes to Daniel Beauchamp, who came in with a gross score of 86. Nice score considering he was 7-over par on the last 3 holes!

Our next tournament is Saturday October 22 and will be the last chance to qualify for the club championships.

Oh yeah, one more thing …

Although it was close, seeing Alan Neufeld with his feigned indifference, neither touching nor looking at the Dos Equis girls … this month’s newly created, yet highly coveted, “Generational Gap” award goes to old man Henshaw who, as we can see from the picture with the girls, represents, oh, about fifteen generations between the ages.

Sad thing is … Tim prefers them younger.

See you on the 22nd. (Before Wilma arrives.)
