May 2007 Tournament Results:
Another appreciative thank you to all our sponsors, new and old, for their participation in our association.
This month’s tournament was played under the Calloway System which, depending on your score, allows your worst holes to be deducted from your total score. (See www.kbmga.com for details).
And the winners are:
Low Gross: Our tournament director himself, Phil Josephson, who shot a 76 from the blue tees. Low Gross awards are only given out to rounds played from the blue tees. However, Hollis Batchelor was the low round of the day with a 75 from the white trees.
First Place, Low Calloway: Dr. Tom Horst who had an adjusted score of 69.5.
Second Place, Low Calloway: Hollis Batchelor with a 71.5.
Third Place, Low Calloway: Lon Hicks with a 73, beating out Gino Delgado by a matching of the score cards.
Closest-to-the-pin awards this month went to:
Hole #6: Dr. Carlos Wiegering.
Hole #12: Gino Delgado. And although we don’t have a record of their distances, both players made their putt for birdies.
My notes don’t show a Long Drive winner because I think we just plain forgot to go out and get it from the fairway. So, I believe that in cases like this, the prize goes to El Prez.
Nice playing to everyone (except me).
And now, back by popular demand after missing last month , we know you’ve all been on the edge of your seats waiting breathlessly to see this month’s newly created, yet highly coveted, “Cluck, Cluck” award go to Phil Josephson.
You see, Phil took out his “Chicken Stick” (an iron off his first tee on hole #1) and proceeded to strut and peck his way around to a smooth 9 on the first hole.
But then again, he ended up with the low gross award, so forget I mentioned anything.
That will do it for now.
See you on the course.
Sincerely,
Bill Hayes
